Farid Ambiah Sensei


2nd Dan Yoshinkan Aikido

Farid Ambiah Sensei started practicing Aikido while he was doing his I.T. Degree in France, in the year of 1995. After his study and came back to Malaysia, he joined The Aikido Shudokan Malaysia and learned Yoshinkan Aikido under Ramlan Ahmed Sensei in the year of 2003. His dedication in these martial arts makes him a fulltime student and uchi deshi (live-in student). In the year of 2005, under guidance of Ramlan Sensei and two years of intensive training, he was graded to 1st Dan by Joe Thambu Shihan.

Farid Ambiah Sensei50th All Japan Yoshinkan Demo 2005 remarked his first international participation. He accompanied Ramlan Sensei and performed in the Demonstration and also trained at Hombu Dojo, Tokyo.

Later in 2006, he spent one month intensive training in Melbourne under Joe Thambu Shihan, to gain knowledge, skills and experience. He was graded to 2nd Dan by Joe Thambu Shihan in the year of 2007.

Farid Ambiah Sensei had participated in various seminars, local and international, such as in Sydney, Singapore and Bandung, Indonesia and trained under well known instructors like Kyoichi Inoue Hanshi, Robert Mustard Sensei, Joe Thambu Shihan, René VDB (Aikikai) and Malcolm Tiki Shewan (Aikikai).

As martial arts enthusiast, Farid Sensei also is a skillful practitioner of Silat Gayong (Traditional Malay Arts) for four years since high school.

At present, Farid Ambiah Sensei is a full time instructor for adults and children.
